What is all this about?
Miniature figurines and the games they are used for have been a passion of mine since I was 11 years old. This section of my site is dedicated to this rather nerdy pasttime.
Relatively recently I started sculpting my own miniatures. On a whim I tried to sculpt a little dog. Pleased with my effort, I posted a picture of him on a sculpting forum on Facebook and the sculpt was snapped up by a miniatures company. Sculpting is also where, slowly, my interests are starting to flow together. I am starting to pay a lot more attention to the anatomy and body forms that I sort of took for granted when doing photography.
Painting miniatures was my entry into this hobby. I had no idea what I was doing to begin with (and in fact, I am still learning and making mistakes even now) but loved the meditative process of painting little people and telling stories about them in my head – which is why I have written these stories down with the painted miniatures I display and given the miniatures stats to enable them to be used in my favourite rule systems.
Using painted miniatures in a game is extremely satisfying. Their stories are spun a little further and (hopefully) lots of fun can be had by all involved. I have become interested in game mechanics too. What makes a game good?

There are plenty of other aspects to this hobby – from building terrain (I intend to build some backdrops to take photos of my own painted sculpts in a suitable setting) to history – historical research for historical miniatures and settings, and also discussing the general history of the hobby as well as my own personal history and musings.
